The seminar “Rivers, Territories and Power: political mapping and alternative hydro-social representations” is part of the Riverhood and River Commons activities, organized within the Water Justice alliance. Participants will come together to learn about, exchange, and deepen practices, concepts, and alternative hydro-territorial representation processes that can support strategies for more democratic, just and sustainable co-governance of rivers. Interconnecting, interweaving and thus enriching experiences between diverse “traveling rivers” is a central focus of the seminar, which seeks to contribute to struggles for environmental justice. The Seminar will take place in Riobamba, Ecuador, from 1 to 4 July. This seminar is, furthermore, linked to the National Forum of Water Resources organized by grassroots organization Camaren, on 6 and 7 July, in Quito, where Riverhood and River Commons will also present the outcomes of the Travelling Rivers initiative.
